Parshas Vayakhail 5779

In our parsha we have the melacha of aish; lowering the status but not the stringency of a major melacha.  What could be the logic of this?

The fire looks like the “innocent” work, movement of his hand.  The truth is that inside the main makings of the fire which is a false impression of its workings;  it looks like your act but it’s not.  העברה

Looks like your act but it’s not.  The lesson is the importance of emes.

Have a wonderful Shabbos.

The pashtus of how we perceive the middle קנה of the מנורה is what we would call the top perch where the כוס is placed.  However from Rashi it really seems that the קנה is one big cup for the oil and the wick.  The stand is really one long deep cup.  The difference is as if the cup is perched on the ground with the oil and wick.  It is as if the ground of the world is producing the light. We know that the object which is the exact center of the avodah brings the special ברכה of the avodah.  It is as if the oil and the wick is on the ground of the world.  This is perhaps the understanding of the awesome greatness of the light of the menorah.

Have a wonderful, lit up Shabbos.

A few words for those that might have a negative taste for  אמה עבריה.  A young lady born to a religious family back back in those years; no framework, no educational system and maybe no circle of friends.  Her father finds a fine respectable family with good character.  Among the siblings there is fine young man that the father sees will eventually be compatible for her.  It is clear to all that it would be very beneficial for her to be part of all this.  When the time came the young man was presented to her as a fine חתן.

The grand gift to us of the משפטים structure is the greatest gift to straighten our minds.

Have a wonderful Shabbos and a redeeming חודש.

20:13—The גניבה referred to in the pasuk is kidnapping with capital punishment.  The obvious difficulty is what awesome, terrible evil has been done to warrant this punishment?

In actuality the victim has had his own free will of choosing the use of his time; the essence of life.  What a tremendously enlightening revelation of the true perspective of life.  The right to choose and use life has been stolen from him.

What a great inspiration to guard and make the ultimate use of life.

Have a wonderful, productive Shabbos.

We have a tremendously enlightening, inspiring Rashi  in our parsha.  Without any question one of the most important areas in our avoda is the high priority demand in the quality of our communication with the world around us.  For this we are called מדבר.   15:25 Rashi brings a sharp criticism of Klal Yisroel in the manner in which they complained regarding the lack of water at Mara.  וילונו Rashi explains was for not entering a respectable discussion about the situation together with a request for dealing with it—amazing.

At times we can lose the true perspective in the demands made of us in the highest level of our communication with all relationships.  To be constantly conscious, cautious, conscientious discretion to true understanding, peace and love.

Have a wonderful  high-spirited Shabbos.

With extreme importance of Klal Yisroel performing the mitzvah of korban Pesach it is most difficult to understand why the Chumash fails to relate to us the actual event.

12:37—the pasuk relates ויסעו בני ישראל—the final greatest moment of Yetzias Mitzrayim.  This is without any orders from Hashem to Moshe or orders from Moshe to Klal Yisroel.  Absolutely no fanfare at all.  Something which must be greatly understood.

What could be the significance of the Torah’s  insistent command to prepare and consume the korban Pesach in the roasted style?  Perhaps we can say that the purpose of the korban was to openly demonstrate toe rebellion against and rejection of the Egyptian עבודה זרה.  By each step of the preparation and fulfilling the mitzvah of the korban they were demonstrating this rejection.  Since the most significant use of the animal is the consumption of its meat and roasting is the best, so this is the highest sign of rejection.

Have a wonderful and meaningful Shabbos with the hope to see to גאולה שלמה בקרוב.

There is a special, unusual uniqueness in the parsha that demands our special attention.  All the makos presented a basic choice to Pharaoh and the Egyptians—do you believe in Hashem and will you release Bnai Yisroel from their bondage,  or ח”ו do you deny Hashem and will not realse בני ישראל from Mitzrayim.  Here, in regard to makas borod a third option is presented, bring in the perishables—if you believe.  This choice really has great depth; on one side “the no admit aspect” nevertheless Hashem allows here to come forward with some commitment of emunah.  You can see this as a great Divine plan given as chizuk for all.

Have a wonderful Shabbos and an uplifting Chodesh.
