When Klal Yisroel traveled in the desert (10: 10) included in the blowing of the chatzotzrah was the malchios, zichronos and shofros; the highest and most holy.

When “moving” we must always have special cognizance of Hashem and commitment to His Will. We are “moving”, going, where, what and why? Is it in accordance ……………..

Have a wonderful Shabbos.

In our parsha (5:15) we find the laws concerning a person suspecting his wife of wayward actions and the procedure of the appropriate korban. What does this issue have to do with the bringing of the korban? A korban always creates a special closeness to Hashem, and this unique closeness brings with it a clarification of the truth.

Klal Yisroel is and always was the recipient of Divine revelation of various truths which comes about and is accomplished by our closeness and clinging to Hashem. This is the secret and foundation of the gift of our receiving the Torah.

Have a wonderful Shabbos.

Parshas Bamidbar (5770)

Rashi (1:49) relates two reasons why shevet Levi were counted separately. Both we have to learn from. Firstly, they were the personal troops of the King and must be treated with reverence and special honor. Today all people who are loyal to Hashem’s Torah are the true royalty and must themselves feel this way. The second is their success in not succumbing to chet haeigel and the perverted testimony of the meraglim. These both were due to the special closeness they had to Hashem.

This is something which we should work on especially today –true closeness to Hashem, which is the key to success in everything.

Have a wonderful Shabbos, a successful Chodesh, and a fulfilling and inspiring Kabolas HaTorah.

Parshas Behar – Bechukosai (5770)
by Mordechai Dolinsky

Rashi explains in the first pasuk of Bechukosai – “Mitzvosai Tishmosru” is referring to fulfilling of the mitzvos, therefore bechukosai talaichu at the beginning of the pasuk is referring to the intensive toiling in Torah, delving into its depths.  We must understand what happened to the just simple studying of Torah for the learning of how to fulfill the mitzvos.  Perhaps we can understand this with an important principle from the Chasam Sofer.  The learning of Torah for the sake of information how to practice is actually part of the practice itself and not really considered the fulfillment of learning Torah for its own sake.

Bechuksai talaichu is a commandment for all of Klal Yisroel and not just for the special lomdai Torah and this puts a great responsibility on all of us.  Happy learning.

Have a good Shabbos.

The reason why the Torah distances the Kohanim from their close ones upon losing them, is because of the high level of closeness the Kohanim have to Hashem.

This closeness to Hashem is perhaps the most outstanding and significant ideal to Klal Yisroel.  This is perhaps the connecting point of the diversified issues in our parsha.

How important it is for us to work to keep the awareness of Hashem in our focus and consciousness always.

Have a wonderful Shabbos and a meaningful Lag B’Omer.

As the galus goes on the darkness intensifies and becomes greater.  It is so vitally important that we keep focus and constantly ask Hashem for guidance to keep  on track to fulfill His Will and the purpose of our existence.

Parshas Tazria – Metzorah (5770)

The tumah of tzoraas of the bayis is mentioned separately because it is a pure gift from Hashem as it brings with it the discovery of the treasures that were hidden within the secret confines of the house.  The other forms of tzoraas on the bodies and clothing is also a gift because everything from Hashem is a gift and for our benefit.  However there are certain gifts from Hashem that are openly and clearly apparent for our joy and pleasure.  How important it is for us to always recognize these special gifts from Hashem and to have the proper gratitude to Hashem that it deserves.

Have a wonderful Shabbos.

Parshas Tzav – Shabbos Ha Gadol (5770)
by Mordechai Dolinsky

The first Rashi the parsha explains that tzav is an expression of ziruz; for immediate and future generations.  This week in the course of the lail haseder we all resemble in a way the Kohain in his avoda in the Bais Hamikdash.  It is imperative that we prepare ourselves these days intensively for the awesome avoda of the seder night.

In light of the shocking turmoil of the current events these days it is imperative to strengthen ourselves in emuna and bitachon which is the true avoda of the days of this month of Nissan anyway.

Hashem should protect us and we should see the ultimate redemption.

Have a wonderful, meaningful Shabbos and Chag Kasher V’Sameach.

Parshas Vayikra (5770)

In the first Rashi of the parsha he relates of the negativity Hashem has when He connects to the gentile prophets.  As much as the Torah teaches the respect we must have for all members of the human race, we must keep a true perspective of the negative side of the goyim.

As we find in the Hagaddah—“Yachol may Rosh Chodesh”—the whole month of Nissan we must connect with the miracles of yetzias mitzrayim by studying the Hagaddah and reading the medrashim.

Have a wonderful, meaningful Shabbos.

Parshas Ki Sisa (5770)

It would be a valuable project to try to connect all the versified subjects in our parsha.  It starts with the counting of Klal Yisroel which symbolizes the extreme importance of every one which is based on the nefesh Elokus, the godliness which we all possess.  This is a key to almost all areas of avodas Hashem.

Have a wonderful Shabbos.
