Awesome, Pharaoh is making a great effort to eliminate the savior of Yisrael and Basya, his daughter, brings him to the palace of Pharaoh, to be part of his personal household. Awesome, hakol biyedai Shomayim. Basya had the zchus of giving the name to the Rebbi of Klal Yisroel and the name Moshe was a memorial that she took him from the water, her intention probably being that it should be a constant reminder for him that he was not really part of the Egyptian royalty. We can see its success in where his loyalty lay in the incident of his killing the Egyptian.

2:10 Rashi brings two subtle differences in the meaning of Moshe. In loshon Arami it means taking out, the connotation being just going from one place to another. In Ioshon Ivri it means to remove, the connotation being the evacuation of something from where it doesn’t belong. An insight into the significance of this can be that Moshe, through the giving of the Torah to Klal Yisroel, lifted Klal Yisroel from the life of empty materialism and put them down in a different plane of existence. This may represent two ways of understanding the relationship of the simple materialistic world and the world he brought us to. How much are we connected to or part of it in essence? Did he just put us on a higher plane of existence or remove us from a place that we don’t really belong at all to a new and different level of existence?

Moshe Rabeinu, Moshe Rabeinu; Yismach Moshe b’matnas chelko.

Bracha V’Hatzlacha.

The bigdei kehuna in our parsha brings to our focus that the manner of dress is an integral part of the avodas Hashem; each of is in our specific circles, “misgeret”, where we find ourselves. We should pay attention to the dress codes as an important aspect of the avodas Hashem.

Keep in mind the importance these days of simcha which could be fulfilled by counting the various blessings that Hashem bestows upon us.

Have a wonderful Shabbos and an awesomely freilichen Purim.

It is very difficult to understand that in our sedra the pesukim themselves go into great detail in the commandments of the building of the Mishkan. These details were only pertinent for the builders of the Mishkan to be knowledgeable of. On the other hand there are many mitzvos that pertain to everyone yet there are not details whatsoever even mentioned in the Torah itself such as Tefilin which is so complicated and has so many details. We must say that the Torah wants all the individuals in Klal Yisroel to be familiar with the structure of the Mishkan and have a picture in our minds of its appearance, including the vessels.

Perhaps this is because the Mishkan was the place where the Shchinah came down to the world, which means it was the source of all bracha to the world. Everything we are and have comes through there. Therefore it was Hashem’s Will that we recognize this and be connected to this holy edifice.

We would sure to fulfill our obligations, be marbeh the simcha in Adar, doing things that bring us happiness. We should once again see for ourselves and Klal Yisroel great yeshuos in this month of Adar. Have a wonderful and joyous week.

Mishpatim, Rashi explains are dinim that we can understand with our own sechel; some with the support of a pasuk and some completely on our own—but all with our own minds. This brings us to a very important principle that Hashem holds us responsible for anything that we understand ourselves; this is as though it was given to us on Har Sinai. This places upon us an awesome responsibility.

Have a wonderful Shabbos and a fulfilling, simchadike Chodesh.

Hashem commanded Moshe to set aside an omer of the mahn for future generations as a living example and a motivation for them not to overdue their hishtadlus for parnassa at the expense of their limud HaTorah. What possible significance could the mohn from the midbar have for the many generations that followed? The answer is a very deep, significant lesson, that the hanhaga of Shomayim towards Klal Yisroel regarding the seder of parnasa which was manifested in the mohn continued and continues for ever and ever.

Have a wonderful Shabbos.

The commandment of the korban Pesach was given to Moshe Rabeinu and Aharon on Rosh Chodesh Nissan to speak to Klal Yisroel on Rosh Chodesh for them to take the lamb on the 10th of Nissan. It has to be slaughtered on the 14th and had to eaten on the night of the 15th; for periods: rosh chodesh, the 10th, the 14th and the 15th. The lesson is to come to close and to gain from ruchnius we need preparation. The aizov seems unimportant but with the proper preparation and understanding we break the barriers and we appreciate its beautiful wonders.

The point of oursedra isn’t just be maavir sedra but the events of the contents are activated here and now. The great demonstration of Hashem’s dominion over the universe are in the ten plagues which we must scrutinize and analyze them to see the great revelation of Hashem. Each maka has its demonstration of the presence and control of Hashem. Your life is in the blood which stems from water. Who changes the water to blood? Who can do this—only Hashem…the gift of life.

(4:1) Moshe’s hesitation for being skeptical about the belief of Klal Yisroel was that he knew the secret that the success in his mission really depended on the bitchaon and emunah of Bnai Yisroel. So, too, today we have so much to receive from Hashem but we must have the bitachon and emunah. We must yearn for Moshiach.

Have a wonderful Shabbos.

Parshas Vayakail-Pekudei (5772)

Rashi points out in the first pasuk of the parshas Vayakail Moshe–that Moshe did not gather the people with any force, rather they came of their own inspiration . What a lesson–thousands of years ago when you would think a leader would use physical force, the mentality of Klal Yisroel even at that time was inspiration and self-motivation. Let’s be inspired today to serve Hashem by our own recognition of the malchus Shomayim and it will bring bracha for ourselves and all Klal Yisroel.
